Distribution of travel documents by the tour leader and check-in for the flight to Istanbul on flight TK1056 (Turkish Airlines) with departure at 19:55. Arrival in Istanbul is scheduled at 00:20 local time. Continuation of the flight to Kathmandu at 01:20 on flight TK726 (Turkish Airlines). Night flight with meals served on board.

2. KATHMANDU

4. KATHMANDU – PATAN – BHAKTAPUR – KATHMANDU

Breakfast. Departure for the nearby city of Patan located on the southern bank of the Bagmati River about 5 km from Kathmandu. The city is also known as the city of artisans, and its main features are numerous Hindu and Buddhist temples. We continue to the city of Bhaktapur, the best-preserved royal city of the Kathmandu Valley, whose name in Sanskrit translation means “city of devotees” because of the three main squares full of temples, some of which are among the best examples of religious architecture in all of Nepal. The city was founded in the 9th century and is the third largest in the Kathmandu Valley; it was once the Nepalese capital and is known for its rich culture, temples and artworks in wood, metal and stone. We continue driving past India Gate, a monument to the victims of World War I, the presidential residence, the Parliament building and the Secretariat – buildings that are an interesting mix of Victorian architecture and 20th-century architecture. After the tour we depart for Agra, a former Indian capital whose mausoleums, fortress and palaces testify to the wealth of the legendary Mughal Empire. Upon arrival in Agra, accommodation at a 5* hotel. Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, departure to visit one of the 7 wonders of the world - the Taj Mahal - the fascinating white marble mausoleum from the 17th century built by the great Mughal Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction of this magnificent monument of love, a masterpiece of Mughal architecture, lasted 17 years, with round-the-clock work of over 20,000 craftsmen and workers. After visiting the Taj Mahal, we will tour the Agra Fort, a masterpiece of design and construction that today dominates the center of Agra. The fort is surrounded by 20-meter-high walls, and within its elegant interior are numerous palaces, chambers, reception halls and gardens as well as the Pearl Mosque. Next is a visit to the tomb of Itmad-Ud Daulah, also known as the “Baby Taj”. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

8. AGRA – FATEHPUR SIKRI – JAIPUR

After breakfast we drive to Jaipur. On the way, a stop to tour the city of Fatehpur Sikri, the so-called Ghost City, which was built in 1569 during the reign of Akbar the Great, and for political reasons abandoned 14 years later. The city, enclosed by 17 m high walls, features beautiful palaces, mausoleums, mosques, pools and gardens. 9. JAIPUR

After breakfast, drive to Amber Fort. On the way to the fort, pass by the beautiful Hawa Mahal or “Palace of Winds”. Elephant ride up to the hill where the fort is located (depending on elephant availability). The beauty of this classic romantic Rajasthani fortress is hidden within its walls with beautifully painted miniatures, ivory and mirror decorations. Within the walls are magnificent palaces, temples and gardens. A mix of pink sandstone, white marble, mirrors, semi-precious stones and frescoes dates from the rule of the Rajput dynasty. In the afternoon, city tour: City Palace, the former royal residence, now partially converted into a museum. The palace itself covers almost 1/7 of Jaipur’s area. Next, visit the Jantar Mantar observatory, built of marble and stone, which has 17 huge instruments, most of which are still functional. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

10. JAIPUR – DELHI

After breakfast we travel by coach to Delhi. Upon arrival, visit the 12th-century Qutab Minar, elegantly hand-carved in its full height of 234 feet (about 71 m), and the Iron Pillar, known for having resisted the effects of time and not rusting for more than 1500 years. We will also visit the Lotus Temple. The building is made of pure white marble. People of any faith are free to visit the temple and pray or meditate. After the tour, check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Nepali food is mostly vegetable/fruit based, but very tasty and filling and quite similar to Indian cuisine. It is mostly based on rice and vegetables and often eaten with hands along with naan (bread). Chicken is the most commonly eaten meat, and fresh fruit is always available.

It is recommended to drink bottled water. Tap water is not for drinking, only bottled water is used and ice is avoided.

No vaccinations are required to enter Nepal. Bring your regular prescription medications if you have any, a probiotic, fever reducers, painkillers, and medications you generally take while traveling. Be sure to bring sunscreen and insect repellent.
