Christmas Magic of Zagreb

Zagreb, the charming Croatian capital, combines Central European elegance with southern warmth and enchants every visitor with its authenticity and charm. The city offers a perfect balance between historical pulse and contemporary lifestyle, making it truly unique in every season. Zagreb in December breathes with a very special warmth – festive lights, romantic streets and abundant events at every turn create one of the most beautiful Christmas tales in this part of Europe. Its Advent market has been chosen several times as the best in Europe and does not disappoint: from the ice rink at Tomislavac, the nostalgic Upper Town to lively Zrinjevac, where the scent of cinnamon and mulled wine drifts among the music and twinkling lights. 

Day 1 LJUBLJANA – ZAGREB - LJUBLJANA

Gather in the morning in Ljubljana (Dolgi most), from where we depart by coach towards Zagreb. After arrival in the Croatian capital we stroll past the Ice Park at King Tomislav Square to the Christmas market in Zrinjevac Park, which is especially beautifully decorated during the festive season. This is followed by a tour of the city centre. We start at Ban Jelačić Square and continue past the Zagreb Cathedral, which dominates the city skyline. Passing Tkalčićeva Street we continue to the Church of St. Mark with its distinctive roof and to the Upper Town, where we walk through the magically decorated Grič Tunnel. We will also visit one of the most popular European Christmas markets held in the centre of Zagreb. Some time will be allocated for independent exploration of the city, enjoying the festive program or shopping for souvenirs and gifts. The markets are spread across the city’s squares and parks, where you can enjoy the festive atmosphere, music and flavors. The air will be filled with the scent of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, sausages and homemade pastries. In the evening there will be a meeting of passengers and the return to Slovenia, arriving in the evening. (coach)
