Graz enchants with its charming mix of a historic core, architectural highlights and a lively urban pulse. The Styrian capital, protected by UNESCO, delights with picturesque streets, the Schlossberg hill with its iconic Uhrturm tower, the elegant Hauptplatz and viewpoints above the River Mur. In December the city comes alive in a festive guise – courtyards, squares and streets glow with lights, and visitors are attracted by numerous Advent markets offering a variety of treats and gifts. Special attention deserves the courtyard of the Landhaushof, where each year magnificent sculptures made from as much as 35 tonnes of ice are erected. Zotter is a chocolate factory that blends tradition with creativity, known for its unusual and organically produced chocolates. Visits include insight into the entire production, from raw material to finished product, with plenty of tastings and chocolate surprises.

Day 1 LJUBLJANA – GRAZ - LJUBLJANA

Early in the morning we meet at the agreed location and set off for the Austrian city of Graz. The first stop is at the well-known Zotter chocolate factory, where we have the opportunity to view the production and enjoy tastings. The chocolate factory is renowned for its innovative flavours and sustainable approach, so this will be a real treat for chocolate lovers. After the visit we continue exploring the centre of Graz, known for its pleasant architecture and rich history. We walk through the city centre and see some of the main sights, among which the Landhaushof stands out. In the courtyard during Advent they set up unique sculptures made from as much as 35 tonnes of ice, creating a very special winter atmosphere. In addition, we view the famous Uhrturm, the city tower and symbol of Graz, and the architectural gem Hauptplatz – the main square with historic buildings and festive stalls. Throughout the city, at various locations, the traditional “Krampuslauf” also takes place, which with loud bells, frightening masks and fiery effects conjures the mystical atmosphere of ancient Alpine customs.
