Travel program:

1. DAY: LJUBLJANA/ZAGREB – MONASTIR – PORT EL KANTAOUI

Arrival of passengers at the airport in Ljubljana/Zagreb 2 hours before the flight. Departure of the plane to Tunis (flight duration about 2 hours). Arrival at Monastir airport. Transfer by bus to the El Mouradi 3* bungalow-type hotel and accommodation on an all inclusive basis. Overnight.

2. DAY: PORT EL KANTAOUI

Day for rest, relaxation, shopping, individual walks or sightseeing. All inclusive service. Overnight.

3. DAY: PORT EL KANTAOUI – TUNIS – CARTHAGE – SIDI BOU SAID – PORT EL KANTAOUI

After breakfast we drive north to the country’s capital, Tunis. Arrival in the centre of the modern and vibrant capital, the Tunis medina, where you will have the opportunity to try your hand at bargaining. Continue to Carthage, the capital of the Punic empire, and tour the remains of ancient Carthage; today it is part of a UNESCO protected area. Carthage will awaken your imagination with its rich and fascinating history and tell the story of Princess Elissa and the great general Hannibal. After the tour there will be lunch, followed by a walk in the idyllic white-and-blue artists' town of Sidi Bou Said, which offers a beautiful panoramic view. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

4. DAY: PORT EL KANTAOUI – EL JEM – MATMATA – DOUZ

After breakfast at the hotel we drive south for an unforgettable adventure and to discover Tunisia’s hidden treasures. The first stop is in El Jem where we will see one of the largest and best-preserved Roman amphitheatres, which once could hold up to 30,000 spectators. Then we drive to Matmata and visit a typical Berber troglodyte house in which some Berbers still live, preserving their culture and language. Lunch (drinks at extra charge). Continue to the town of Douz, an oasis also called "The Gateway to the Sahara", where the real sand dunes begin. An unforgettable experience will certainly be a walk in the Sahara in a slightly different way, on the back of a camel (optional, at extra charge). Accommodation in a 4* hotel. Dinner and overnight.

5. DAY: DOUZ – CHOTT EL JERID – TOZEUR

After breakfast we continue the safari program and head to Tunisia’s largest dried salt lake, Chott El Jerid, where a short stop is planned. Don’t miss the opportunity to buy desert roses or photograph this natural phenomenon. Continue driving to Tozeur. If you are ready for a real adventure, we suggest an adrenaline off-road drive in 4x4 vehicles to the beautiful oases of Chebika and Tamerza (optional, at extra charge). Accommodation in a 4* hotel, lunch, dinner, overnight. If desired, after dinner there is the possibility to visit the Dar Zamen museum in Tozeur, which presents the country’s traditions, history and tales of 1001 nights (optional, at extra charge).

6. DAY: TOZEUR – GAFSA – KAIROUAN – PORT EL KANTAOUI

Breakfast. Drive to the date palm oases or visit a small zoo (optional, at extra charge). Then drive north with a stop on the way for lunch. The last stop is in the holy city for Muslims, Kairouan, and an external visit to the Great Mosque of Oqba Ibn Nafi. We will also visit a carpet workshop where you will see various hand-woven carpets and be able to try your bargaining skills. After that we return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

7. DAY: PORT EL KANTAOUI

Day for rest, relaxation, shopping, individual walks or sightseeing. All inclusive service.

8. DAY: PORT EL KANTAOUI – MONASTIR – LJUBLJANA/ZAGREB

Transfer from the hotel to the airport. Departure by plane to Ljubljana/Zagreb (flight duration about 2 hours). Arrival at the airport.

- mandatory surcharge for tourist tax for all persons over 12 years – the tax is paid on site at the hotel (8 TND or about 3 EUR per person per night)

NOTES:

The agency reserves the right to change certain parts and the order of the travel program depending on changes in the airline schedule, opening hours of visited sites, weather conditions and other factors. During the stay at the hotel (El Mouradi 3* - Port El Kantaoui) the service is on an all inclusive basis; during the safari program the service is on a full board basis. When going on the safari guests must vacate their rooms and take their luggage with them. Optional excursions and services are organized by the local travel agency. A minimum of 10 registered passengers is required for this program. The guiding is in Croatian or Slovenian. The general travel conditions are an integral part of this program and can be found on the website www.suncaniodmor. com. We kindly ask travelers to read the conditions before signing the contract. In case of an insufficient number of registered persons, Sunčani odmor d.o.o. reserves the right to cancel the arrangement. Flight times are subject to change. The organizer reserves the right to change the city and schedule of return and departure without special compensation. The organizer is not responsible for aircraft delays or changes to the trip resulting from delays. Please note that hotel classification in Tunisia is generally lower than in Europe. If circumstances prevent accommodation in the reserved property, the Travel Organizer will place the Passenger in another property of equal or higher category than booked.
