ITINERARY
The group departs in the morning from an agreed departure point and travels by coach towards the Lika region. Our first stop is the Cerovačke Caves, one of Croatia's most important cave systems. The complex consists of the Lower, Middle and Upper Caves and is also one of the most significant cave bear sites in Croatia. We will explore the Lower Cave accompanied by an expert guide. And somewhere along the way, the legendary Stone Wedding Guests (Kameni svatovi) are waiting for us... The cave tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours. After exploring the caves, we continue our journey to Smiljan, the birthplace of the world-famous inventor Nikola Tesla, where we visit the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre. Here, we will discover the story of Tesla's life and work, visit the Demonstration Centre and explore the museum collection, accompanied by an expert guide. After the visit, enjoy some free time for a coffee or souvenir shopping. We then continue to Gospić, where lunch awaits us at a local restaurant. After lunch, we explore Gospić with a licensed local tourist guide. During our walking tour through the city centre, we will discover its landmarks, including the monument to Croatian linguists and the city park. We will hear the fascinating story of the two noblewomen who once lived in the city, learn how Gospić got its name and, finally, arrive at the city's main square, where Vila Velebita awaits us for a memorable group photo. From Gospić, our journey continues to OPG Stilan, a local family farm. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a tasting of traditional rakija, liqueurs and homemade products, surrounded by a beautiful setting, warm atmosphere and delicious local specialities. And after the tasting, a true Ličanin will be waiting to share his story with you. After spending time with our friendly hosts, we begin our journey back to the original departure point, arriving in the late evening.
